Sleep

To the horizon’s lullaby the sun has settled.
The Irish wind was gentle but cold.
Carrying the sweet melody of the Atlantic,
It soothed the tired with a peaceful sleep.
I could hear it’s music,
Wishing me a good night’s sleep.
My eyelids are falling and my body tired,
But my soul is restless and my heart heavy.
I wish I could sleep to thy lullaby.
But an ache grows in me,
Not letting me slip to those beautiful dreams.
I wish I could sleep to thy lullaby,
But an ache grows in me,
Not letting me sleep.
